• Once again we welcomed new and returning students to the University.  We spoke to students from each School telling them about the Students’ Union and how we help our students get the best out of their student life and spoke to students in their classrooms making sure we spoke to as many students as possible.

 

• We packed and gave out over 2,000 Welcome bags to Freshers, packed full with vital information and exciting freebies. 

 

• We put on a wide range of diverse activities during Welcome Week.  Students could enjoy a visit to Bolton’s Octagon Theatre, a ramble in the local countryside, revisit their holidays with our very own beach party, meet the Chuckle Brothers; Barry and Paul and rap with Lethal Bizzle to name a few events.

 

• We took part in Bolton Pride's first every march event in Bolton.  We had a great day and are already looking forward to next year's event which will be bigger and better! 

 

• We held the Annual Welcome Fair and Student Activities Awareness Day.  Local and national businesses came to the University and gave out information and freebies relevant to students.  Our sporting clubs and societies showcased their activities and lots of you joined up. 

 

• We sold hundreds of NUS Extra cards, saving students lots of lovely money.  Cards are on sale in the SU Reception Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm.   

 

• SU On Tour started up again, the SU’s Community Engagement Coordinators along with the President have been out and about speaking to students and getting feedback on their student experience.  Click here for dates.
